Where children are free to become.

We believe that children thrive in a child-centered environment where they are able to learn about themselves, their world, and others through play. We know that children yearn for learning opportunities that reflect an understanding of their interests, their lives, and their development. Our curriculum is inspired by the educational approach used in the schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy. The Reggio approach is committed to the creation of conditions for learning that enhance and facilitate children’s construction of their own powers of thinking through expressive, communicative, and cognitive languages.

We value the deep connection between parents and children and are committed to nurturing and supporting that relationship. We believe that we encourage children’s whole development when parents and teachers work together as partners in their child’s learning.

We understand that children are growing up in an increasingly diverse world where opportunities for joyous celebration of diversity as well as harsh realities of unfairness and bias exist. We believe that children flourish when the unique aspects of their identities are supported and reflected in the classroom and when they are taught to think critically about and resist biased and stereotypical images and messages that limit their healthy and complete development. We believe that by supporting social development and teaching peaceful conflict resolution skills, we give children "tools in their toolbox" that will serve them well now and in the future. dingbat: tadpole
